Some of the bigger changes
The finale will now take place at ISM in Pheonix Arizona, the Miami Race moves to late March
the 3 cut-off races in the playoffs will be Bristol, The Charlotte Roval, and Martinsville. Thisll be the first time Bristol has shown up in the playoffs
Regular season finale will now be at Daytona under the lights. First race of the playoffs will once again be Darlington for its throwback weekend
To take Daytona’s spot on 4th of july weekend will be the Brickyard
For the first time in the modern era Pocono will host a doubleheader weekend with the top level MENSCup series racing on both Saturday and Sunday on June 27th and 28th. This allows them to end the season a full week earlier than normal on November 8th
Also for the first time ever there will be a fathers day race which will happen at my home track of Chicago. Normally thats been an off weekend
The first martinsville race of the year will be on mothers day weekend under the newly installed lights
I honestly love the changes. The doubleheader weekend at pocono should be a hoot and having all 3 elimination races in the playoffs at short tracks and the roval is a nice change of pace from all the cookie cutter tracks this series runs. Now for 2021 lets get Nascar to go to COTA!

As someone who lives within an hour of Pocono, I will definitely be looking into that doubleheader.
Now if they could just get rid of stage racing...

I wonder what the overnight restrictions are on the doubleheader. That should be real interesting Sunday with 700+ miles on the parts.

yeah i wonder if theyll let teams bring a second hauler with extra cars or if theyll have to run two races with one primary and a backup if that one wrecks. i know they are allowed extra cars for speedweeks for the clash and duals and 500 but itll be interesting to say the least

I hope not. The semi-randomness of part failure helps break up the race.

i mean they can still have a firecracker 400 itll just be in a flyover state rather than a swamp

As bloated the calender is with cookie cutter tracks, having an entire block of playoffs be just short track and road courses just doesnt feel right.
That could really hurt someone whos just owned the mile and a half tracks all year. Only to have a couple small races that dont count for a third of the season buck them out
And switching to phoenix may play into the hands of certain drivers so if this format sticks we could see another several year reign if someone else can play the rules right.
We still need a dirt track. And not the circus act the trucks put on. We need a duquoin fairgrounds arca race setup. But short term ill still tune in

Rent an old A300 freighter
Fly to Pocono the night before
File a round-trip flight plan to Charlotte

People are bitching about Chicago in June and asking for them to change it to a Saturday night right instead of Sunday afternoon
